The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has renewed its call for the remaining members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Panay Island to abandon their armed struggle and return to the fold of the law.
Following recent clashes between government forces and NPA remnants, particularly in Tapaz, Capiz, the AFP has intensified its peace efforts and reintegration programs.
Loudspeaker operations are being conducted in various barangays of Tapaz, aimed at directly reaching out to NPA members, urging them to surrender. The AFP reassures that the government remains open to those who seek to leave the conflict behind and embrace a peaceful life.
Under the 301st Infantry “Bayanihan” Brigade, the 82nd, 12th, and 61st Infantry Battalions are ready to provide support to former rebels and their families, helping them rebuild their lives and contribute to a peaceful future.
The AFP stresses that it is never too late for NPA members to choose peace. By laying down their arms, they can secure a fresh start and contribute to a safer, more prosperous Panay.
The AFP believes that with the cooperation of the government, the community, and former rebels, a safer, more harmonious Panay is within reach for all.
