The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed food and non-food items to victims of heavy rains and flooding caused by Typhoon Bising and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) in Northern Luzon.

According to DSWD Spokesperson Asec. Irene Dumlao, relief assistance has already reached affected communities in Ilocos Sur, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, and Benguet.

Several residents were evacuated due to multiple landslides and are currently staying in evacuation centers.

So far, more than 1,000 families—or over 3,000 individuals—have been affected by the flooding. The DSWD continues to coordinate with local government units (LGUs) to respond to the needs of affected residents.

Dumlao said monitoring efforts remain ongoing, especially in areas still experiencing persistent rainfall and flooding.
