MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has ordered the relief of Police General Nicolas Torre III as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), based on a document signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
The order, dated August 25, directed that Torre’s relief take effect immediately.
“You are hereby relieved as Chief, PNP effective immediately,” the document stated.
