ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Storm Surge Warning No. 8 for Typhoon Tino, warning that storm surges higher than three meters may hit several low-lying coastal areas in Capiz.
According to PAGASA, the municipalities of Ivisan, Panay, Pilar, Pontevedra, President Roxas, Roxas City, and Sapian are at high risk of significant storm surge impacts, including damage to communities, coastal and marine infrastructures, and disruption of marine activities.
Residents in these areas are strongly advised to evacuate immediately and move to higher ground, as authorities warn of possible severe coastal flooding and erosion along beaches. PAGASA also noted that all marine activities must be suspended due to extremely dangerous sea conditions.
PAGASA urged the public to stay tuned to official advisories and storm surge warnings, emphasizing that the situation remains critical as Typhoon Tino continues to intensify while moving through the Visayas region.
