An employee of an ammunition factory has tragically died following an explosion at Armscor Global Defense Incorporated in Marikina City.
According to Police Colonel Geoffrey Fernandez, chief of the Marikina City Police, the victim sustained severe injuries and passed away shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
Two other employees were also injured in the blast, which occurred around 2:15 p.m. during the manufacturing of ammunition. The explosion was caused by a primer used in the production process.
The victim, who was later identified as one of the workers, succumbed to chest wounds from shrapnel at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center.
Armscor Global Defense has expressed its commitment to fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigation into the incident.
