Inihayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na umabot sa mahigit P500 bilyon ang kabuuang halaga ng mga flood control projects mula Hulyo 2022 hanggang Mayo 2025.
“The total cost of all of the projects since July 2022 until today is P545 billion. I don’t know about you but that is a very big number, by any measure that is an enormous number,” ayon kay Marcos sa isang press conference kung saan inanunsyo rin niya ang paglulunsad ng website ukol sa mga flood control project.
Batay sa datos mula sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), may kabuuang 9,855 proyekto, kung saan 6,021 ang nagkakahalaga ng higit P350 bilyon. Hindi pa tinutukoy kung anong uri ng flood control structures ang itinayo, inayos o nirehabilitate.
Ayon kay Marcos, may mga proyekto sa iba’t ibang lugar na may magkaparehong contract cost, na maaaring indikasyon na iisang disenyo, materyales at haba ang ginamit kahit magkaiba ang lokasyon o anyo ng lupa.
Pinakamarami at pinakamalaki ang gastos sa National Capital Region (1,058 proyekto, P52.57 bilyon), Region III (1,617 proyekto, P98.01 bilyon), at Region V (866 proyekto, P49.61 bilyon).
“And most importantly, it is in a form that the public can use so that they can first, identify the projects that — the flood control projects that are within their area, within their barangay so that they can actually go and look at it,” sabi ng Pangulo.
“Or if they already have information, they can tell us about it kung maganda ‘yung naging project, kung hindi maganda ‘yung naging project, bakit hindi maganda ‘yung naging project, ano naging problema, et cetera, et cetera,” dagdag niya.
