Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson Jay Tarriela criticized Senator Alan Peter Cayetano for focusing on a caricature instead of condemning China’s continued harassment of Filipino fishermen and the PCG in the West Philippine Sea.
Tarriela questioned when Cayetano last stood up against China’s aggressive actions, including water cannon incidents, and emphasized that officials should defend the country’s sovereignty.
He also criticized Cayetano’s tenure as DFA secretary and urged lawmakers to unite on the West Philippine Sea issue regardless of political affiliation.
