The 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨, in the strongest possible terms, denounces the heinous and cowardly shooting of Ms. Arlyn D. Alcebar, 54 years old, School Principal of Agriculture Elementary School, which occurred at the front gate of said school in Midsayap, North Cotabato, on the morning of August 12, 2025.
According to the District Head’s report, the victim was driving a Toyota Rush and was about to enter the school premises when she was shot by two unidentified assailants riding in tandem on a motorcycle.
She is currently confined in a hospital and is in stable condition. Upon receiving the report, the Division Office promptly dispatched personnel to the area to coordinate with school officials, local authorities, and law enforcement agencies.
This brazen attack is a criminal offense and a flagrant assault on the sanctity of schools, which are recognized by law as zones of peace and learning. We call upon the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and all concerned agencies to immediately investigate, identify, and apprehend the perpetrators, and to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
The Schools Division of Cotabato stands in full solidarity with the victim, her family, and the school community, and will extend full cooperation to law enforcement in the pursuit of justice, for impunity has no place in a civilized society.
