In a continuing effort to bring government services closer to the people, the Philippine Army led a Community Awareness Forum in Barangay Briones, Kalibo, Aklan. The activity aimed to inform residents about available government programs, promote peace and development, and encourage open dialogue between the community and the agencies that serve them.

The initiative was spearheaded by the 82nd Infantry “Bantay Laya” Battalion and the 3rd Civil Military Operations Battalion, in coordination with the Aklan Police Provincial Office. The forum was supported by key government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Social Welfare and Development Team (SWAD) Aklan, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Agriculture (DA). Also in attendance was Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, who serves as the Chairperson of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF ELCAC) in Region 6.
During the activity, agency representatives discussed various programs that the public can access — including livelihood assistance, free skills training, agricultural support, and social welfare services. These efforts also aimed to clear up misinformation that may cause confusion or lead to unrest in the community.

One of the highlights of the day was the open forum, where residents were encouraged to raise their concerns, ask questions, and directly engage with the officials present. The dialogue was honest and respectful, allowing for real issues to be heard and addressed.
For the Philippine Army and its partner agencies, this was more than just a forum. It was a chance to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and remind the people that public service should always be compassionate and accessible.
This initiative is part of the ongoing mission of the Community Awareness Peace Law Enforcement Development Support Team, guided by the belief that:
Peace, continuity, and sustainability is a shared responsibility.
Through simple yet sincere efforts like this, the government continues to show its commitment to inclusive progress — making sure that no Filipino community is left behind.
