The United Nations Human Rights Office has confirmed that 798 people have died in Gaza during humanitarian aid operations, based on data collected up to July 7.
UN spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani stated that 615 deaths occurred near aid distribution sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), while 183 people were killed along routes used by aid convoys.
The GHF, an initiative supported by the United States and Israel, partners with private American security and logistics companies to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza. However, it often operates outside the framework of the UN-coordinated aid system.
The UN has condemned GHF’s operations, describing them as “inherently unsafe” and saying they violate the core principle of humanitarian impartiality, which calls for neutrality in aid distribution.
Since late May, GHF has been distributing food in Gaza, but the organization has denied any responsibility for the reported casualties, claiming that no incidents have taken place
