De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers got back to winning ways by defeating University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Lady Altas in straight sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19, in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

The Lady Blazers wrapped up the match in just one hour and 17 minutes, avenging their earlier loss to the Lady Altas in the first round.

Veteran players Clydel Catarig and Zam Nolasco led Benilde with 16 points each, and rookie Cam Bartolome added 13 points to the effort.

Shekaina Lleses contributed with seven points and doubled up with 11 digs and 11 receptions, while setter Chenae Basarte directed the offense effectively with 19 excellent sets.

For Perpetual, Jem Menor scored 16 points, but the Altas’ three-game winning run ended with the loss.

Benilde is scheduled to play San Sebastian College-Recoletos next Tuesday, while Perpetual will face Jose Rizal University on Sunday
