The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers maintained their bid for the Group A top seed in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament by sweeping the Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers in straight sets, winning 25‑8, 25‑22, 25‑15 at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
The four‑time defending champions dominated throughout, closing out the match in just 1 hour and 19 minutes to improve their record to 9–3, while JRU dropped to 2–11.
Clydel Catarig led Benilde’s strong performance with 16 points, supported by 10‑point outings from both Zam Nolasco and Cam Bartolome. Shekaina Lleses also contributed with nine points and 11 receptions.
Despite the lopsided score, the Lady Bombers showed some fight in the second set, narrowing a six‑point deficit before ultimately falling short.
