ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – The province of Capiz is now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 as Typhoon Tino continues to intensify while moving across the Visayas region, bringing typhoon-force winds and heavy rainfall.

According to PAGASA, areas under Signal No. 4 may experience destructive winds with speeds reaching 118 to 184 kilometers per hour within the next 12 hours. The weather bureau warned of a significant to severe threat to life and property, urging residents to stay indoors and avoid coastal and low-lying areas prone to storm surges and flooding.

Local authorities in Capiz, through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), have been placed on full alert, with preemptive evacuations underway in flood-prone communities. Power interruptions and communication disruptions are also possible due to strong winds and downed lines.

Typhoon Tino is affecting several parts of the Visayas, including Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and portions of Antique and Aklan, as well as northern Negros and Cebu. Residents are strongly advised to monitor official advisories and coordinate with local government units for safety updates.
