The International Criminal Court (ICC) has clarified that former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte remains in detention at the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, Netherlands.

The clarification was issued by the ICC’s Public Information and Outreach Section following the Pre-Trial Chamber I’s decision to grant Duterte’s legal team’s request to postpone the ruling on his interim release.

The former President has been in custody for over four months, having been arrested on March 11 of this year. He is facing charges of crimes against humanity in connection with alleged killings linked to his administration’s controversial war on drugs.
