Malacañang rejected claims that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is trying to weaken or “neutralize” former President Rodrigo Duterte. The Palace said the accusation, made by Duterte’s defense lawyer during the ICC proceedings, is false and baseless.
Presidential Communications officials stressed that the allegations lack factual basis and are being used for political rhetoric. They also pointed out that the cases against Duterte were filed long before Marcos became president, dismissing the claim that the current administration is targeting Duterte for political reasons.
