PONTEVEDRA, CAPIZ – A man was killed after being struck by a falling tree at the height of Typhoon Tino in Barangay Sublangon, Pontevedra, Capiz.
The victim, identified only by his alias “Buddy,” was a resident of Bacolod City but was temporarily staying in Pontevedra for work.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Ricky Funtilon, a friend of the victim, said he rushed outside his house to check after hearing that a tree had fallen.
To his shock, Funtilon discovered that it was his friend who had been pinned down by the tree while he was attending to his motorcycle.
Reports indicate that the victim sustained a severe head injury, which caused his death.
