During a visit to the White House on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally handed President Donald Trump a letter nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize.

At the start of their meeting, Netanyahu praised the U.S.-brokered diplomatic efforts in the Middle East and said Israel was continuing to work with the United States to identify countries willing to help improve the future for Palestinians.

The symbolic gesture comes as the two leaders highlight their close alliance and the Trump administration’s role in reshaping regional dynamics in the Middle East.
