The neon glow of Times Square turned into flashing red and blue early Saturday morning when gunshots shattered the late-night buzz of New York’s most famous tourist spot.
Police say a 17-year-old boy opened fire just after 1 a.m. near 44th Street and 7th Avenue, right outside the Hard Rock Café. What began as a dispute between two people erupted into chaos as the sound of gunfire echoed through the crowd.
An 18-year-old woman felt the sting of a bullet grazing her neck. Two men — one just 19, the other 65 — crumpled to the ground with gunshot wounds to their legs. Bystanders screamed and ducked for cover, clutching loved ones and dragging children behind barricades.
All three victims were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors say they’re in stable condition. The teen suspect was quickly caught, his weapon recovered. Because of his age, his name remains hidden — but for those caught in the crossfire, the memory of that moment will not fade so easily.
Witnesses describe the scene as pure panic — a place known for bright lights and laughter suddenly filled with fear.
