ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – Proper knowledge and discipline in waste segregation are essential for a cleaner environment and the longer lifespan of the city’s sanitary landfill, Mayor Ronnie Dadivas emphasized.

In line with this, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), together with the City Planning and Development Office and City Councilor Bordoy Viterbo, recently conducted a Waste Analysis and Characterization Study Orientation for the Solid Waste Management Focal Persons of each barangay.

During the orientation, participants were trained on the correct methods of segregating waste, including special waste, bulky items, hazardous materials, residuals, biodegradable, and non-biodegradable waste. They are expected to share this knowledge with their respective communities to promote proper waste management practices across the city.

Mayor Dadivas highlighted that educating barangay officials and residents on responsible waste disposal is key to maintaining a sustainable and clean Roxas City.
