SEC, continues to warn against widespread deepfake videos

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) continues to warn the public about the ongoing prevalence of fake investment schemes.

According to the SEC, suspects are now using deepfake videos to make their solicitations appear more credible.

They often use the likenesses of well-known and prominent business figures in the country.

Because of this, the SEC is urging lawmakers to pass legislation against the spread of deepfake videos.

They are also continuing their investigation into the said incidents.
