Smart Omega is making significant changes ahead of MPL Philippines Season 17, signaling a fresh start as they hope to finally break their championship drought.

The team confirmed that veteran midlaner Salic “Hadji” Imam will no longer be part of the roster, ending his one‑season run with the club.

Remaining with Smart Omega from last season are four players — exp laner James “Jeymz” Gloria, jungler Dean “Raizen” Sumagui, gold laner Kenneth “Netskie” Barro, and sixth man Peuder — who all competed during their 5‑9 finish in Season 16.

To strengthen the lineup, Smart Omega added two new faces: John “Perkziva” Sumawan and Karl “Minguin” Gallantes.

Perkziva, previously a sixth man for Team Liquid Philippines during their title victories in Seasons 15 and 16 and at the M7 World Championship, is now stepping into Smart Omega’s main five.

Minguin takes over the midlane role left vacant by Hadji. He most recently played for RRQ Kaito in the MDL Philippines.
