The Quezon City government has warned drivers to prepare for heavy traffic on Wednesday, February 25, as several civil society groups plan to gather for the “Trillion Peso March” coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power revolt.

Traffic is expected to slow down from around 8 a.m. especially near the EDSA People Power Monument, affecting major roads including EDSA, Katipunan Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, White Plains Avenue, and Temple Drive.

To help ease the flow of vehicles, authorities will implement a zipper lane on White Plains Avenue between EDSA and Katipunan Avenue starting at 6 a.m., and the road will be closed early in the morning.

Officials have also designated drop‑off points and parking areas for participants in locations like Temple Drive near Giraffe Street and along EDSA near the People Power Monument.

Because February 25 is a special working holiday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suggests using the MRT‑3 instead of private cars to reduce congestion.

Local authorities are anticipating 30,000 to 50,000 people to attend the event, while the National Capital Region Police Office is on full alert in preparation for both the anniversary rites and the march.
