Paul Castor Janobas of West Visayas State University was crowned Mr. RASUC VI 2026, earning the honor of representing Western Visayas at the upcoming Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) event this April.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Janobas admitted feeling nervous about the upcoming PASUC competition despite his recent victory. He described the Mr. RASUC VI pageant as a memorable experience, not only for winning the title but also for reconnecting with friends and fellow contestants.

The pageant’s 2nd Runner-Up, John Lloyd Diosaban of Capiz State University, said that representing his university brought pressure but was ultimately fulfilling, giving honor to CAPSU while allowing him to compete against other schools in Western Visayas.

Jay Cañete of Iloilo Science and Technology University called the experience “life-changing,” noting that the competition helped build his confidence, self-worth, and inspired him to encourage other students to keep striving for success.

Meanwhile, Jared Demonteverde of Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology reflected on the deeper lessons of the pageant, realizing that personal development does not only happen on stage or in the spotlight, but in preparation, practice, and daily effort—turning the competition into a transformative journey.
