The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Tuesday morning served a search warrant on the properties of the Discaya family in Pasig City in connection with their collection of luxury vehicles.
“We just want to check if the vehicles are still there. The Manila court has allowed us to verify this,” BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said.
“Our goal is to ensure proper payment of taxes if there are deficiencies. This is in line with President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.’s directive to look into possible violations,” he added.
The warrant covered 12 luxury vehicles, but most were no longer inside the compound. Because of this, Nepomuceno urged the family to surrender the cars. He said the BOC has sought the help of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) to seize the vehicles if they are not turned over.
Nepomuceno stressed that the BOC needs to verify whether the vehicles’ documents are complete and if the correct duties and taxes were paid. The properties searched were located on F. Manalo Street in Pasig.
In a statement, the BOC reaffirmed its commitment to combat smuggling and ensure proper tax collection under the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). The operation follows a Senate inquiry where the Discaya family’s luxury vehicles were mentioned.
“The BOC is monitoring and supporting the investigation of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, chaired by Senator Rodante Marcoleta, into alleged anomalous flood control projects, which also raised questions on the Discaya family’s luxury cars,” the bureau said.
It added that any irregularity in the importation of luxury vehicles—such as misdeclaration or non-payment of taxes—will face enforcement action under the CMTA.
The BOC said it cannot yet disclose details of ongoing investigations but assured the public that it remains firm in enforcing the law with fairness, transparency, and due process.
On Monday, Discaya faced the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, where she was asked about her government contracts and her luxury car collection. In a viral video, she admitted buying a Rolls-Royce “because of the umbrella” that came with it. She confirmed the car cost ₱42 million.
Discaya also revealed the estimated prices of other vehicles she and her husband own:
- Rolls Royce – ₱42 million
- Mercedes-Benz G63 – ₱20 million
- Cadillac Escalade – ₱11 million (white), ₱8 million (black)
- Chevrolet Suburban (used) – ₱3 million
- Range Rover Autobiography – ₱16 million
- Range Rover Defender – ₱7 million
- Range Rover Evoque – ₱5 million
She further admitted to owning GMC, Maybach, and Bentley units.
When pressed by Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada about her claim in viral videos of having more than 40 cars, Discaya replied, “I can’t remember them all.”
Discaya, a former Pasig mayoral candidate, said she previously worked abroad as a dental receptionist and orthodontic nurse before entering the construction business. She added that both her father and husband were also contractors.
