Capiz, Philippines – Get ready for a flavor-packed experience as Capiz prepares to host its 3rd Coffee and Cacao Festival in just three days. This year’s festival promises to be bigger, richer, and more exciting than ever, bringing together local farmers, entrepreneurs, and coffee and cacao lovers to celebrate the province’s thriving industry.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Merian Asas, OIC Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Capiz, shared her enthusiasm for this year’s event, emphasizing its significance in celebrating the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) Month. “The festival aligns with the national theme ‘Asenso Negosyo, Angat Kabuhayan: Bagong Pilipinas!’ and is a tribute to the hardworking people behind Capiz’s growing coffee and cacao industry,” she said.
The festival will feature a range of exciting activities, including:
- Trade Fair & Exhibits: A display of Capiz’s best coffee and cacao products from 15 local exhibitors—11 representing the coffee industry and 4 showcasing cacao. Visitors can sample, buy, and learn about these artisan products.
- Coffee Appreciation Brewing: A unique opportunity for coffee enthusiasts to learn the art of brewing and the finer details of coffee production.
- Cacao Tablea Demos: Witness the traditional art of making tablea from Capiz-grown cacao and experience the rich, distinct flavors of local chocolate.
- Business Matching: A dedicated session for connecting local producers, processors, and entrepreneurs, fostering collaboration and growth within the industry.
- Awarding Ceremony: A special occasion to honor the achievements of key industry players and celebrate the graduation of KMME Batch 1 mentees—entrepreneurs who have gone through a mentorship program to elevate their businesses.
“This festival is an opportunity to celebrate not only the delicious products of Capiz but also the dedication of our farmers and entrepreneurs. Whether you’re a coffee lover, a cacao enthusiast, or someone looking to expand your business, there’s something here for everyone,” said Asas.
The 3rd Capiz Coffee and Cacao Festival will take place in a vibrant atmosphere, promising to boost the local economy while promoting sustainable agriculture and high-quality products. Don’t miss the chance to sip, savor, and support Capiz’s growing coffee and cacao industry from July 7–13, 2025.
