ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – Heightened concern now looms over residents and tourists in Roxas City following multiple sightings of the notorious Box Jellyfish, considered one of the most venomous sea creatures in the world.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Roxas, Barangay Baybay Kagawad Earl Valencia confirmed that several of these jellyfish have been observed in the coastal waters of their barangay over the past few days.

To ensure public safety, barangay officials immediately installed warning signs and issued advisories, cautioning swimmers to stay out of the water in affected areas.

Valencia also urged local fishermen and beach resort operators to remain vigilant and inform their visitors about the potential threat posed by these marine creatures.

Marine experts emphasize that a sting from a Box Jellyfish can trigger intense pain, muscle weakness, and in severe cases, cardiac arrest due to its highly toxic venom.
