Vilma Santos-Recto is poised to reclaim her position as governor of Batangas, based on partial results from the 2025 elections. Santos previously served three consecutive terms as governor from 2007 to 2016.
As of the Commission on Elections’ 1:08 a.m. tally on Tuesday, Santos has secured 604,826 votes, with 80 percent of election returns from Batangas province already transmitted.
Her closest rival, Mike Rivera, trails behind with 490,611 votes, while Jay Ilagan has received 50,606 votes.
Meanwhile, Santos’ son, Luis “Lucky” Manzano, who is running for vice governor, is trailing significantly behind incumbent Dodo Mandanas. Manzano has garnered 522,291 votes compared to Mandanas’ 759,283.
