Roxas City, Capiz – A tragic scene unfolded in Sitio Riles, Barangay Lanot, Roxas City, after a mother and her daughter were found lifeless and bloodied inside their residence on Monday morning.
The victims were identified as 72-year-old Elma Perla and her daughter, 33-year-old Ruby Jean Perla, who worked as a virtual assistant.
According to Roselyn Padio, a neighbor of the victims who was interviewed by Bombo Radyo, she heard the cries of an 8-year-old child inside the house shouting, “Wawa is going to the hospital. Open the door.” Neighbors then rang the doorbell several times but received no response.
Alarmed by the situation, the neighbors forced open the gate and discovered the kitchen door was unlocked. Inside, they found the lifeless body of the elderly mother, drenched in blood. Further inspection revealed the body of the daughter in the living room, also bloodied. Her clothes were reportedly lifted, exposing her underwear, prompting speculations of a possible assault.
Another resident reported hearing a commotion from inside the house earlier, including what sounded like cries and a loud banging noise. However, she dismissed it at the time, thinking it was just a regular argument as sometimes heard in the home.
Investigators noted that there were no signs of forced entry, and no weapons have been recovered from the scene so far. Ruby Jean, the daughter, had reportedly just returned home early that morning from work.
Authorities are currently continuing their investigation to determine the motive and identify any suspects behind the gruesome deaths.
