TACLOBAN CITY — The body of a 35-year-old woman who was abducted in Ormoc City, Leyte has been found floating lifeless in the waters off Tacloban City.
According to authorities, a fisherman discovered the victim’s body on the morning of August 4, 2025, and immediately reported it to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Tacloban and the Fishery Law Enforcement Team.
The woman’s face was wrapped in plastic and her hands were bound, police said.
Police also noted that the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition but was positively identified by the victim’s family.
In a statement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 confirmed that the remains belong to the woman who was abducted in Ormoc City on July 31, 2025.
Initial investigation revealed that three armed men allegedly took the victim from her location.
According to Police Captain Flora Mae Molina, authorities are continuing the investigation to determine the motive behind the crime and to identify the suspects responsible.
