ROXAS CITY – A 34-year-old Indian national died after allegedly shooting himself inside their home at St. Francis Subdivision, Barangay Tanque, Roxas City.

According to Police Lt. Colonel Ricardo Jomuad Jr., chief of the Roxas City Police Station, the victim’s wife discovered him in their bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head.

A .45 caliber pistol was still in his hand when she found him.

The wife told investigators that her husband had often made remarks about ending his life and had recently been struggling with severe depression.

Authorities also learned that the victim was suffering from a brain tumor and that the family had been facing mounting medical expenses, which may have contributed to his decision.

Police have ruled out foul play and continue to investigate the incident.


The victim’s remains have been brought to a local funeral home.
