ALTAVAS, AKLAN – A 28-year-old police officer from Dao, Capiz was declared dead after an alleged accidental discharge of his service firearm inside his quarters at the 4th Maneuver Platoon of the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, stationed at Sitio Murayan Junction, Poblacion, Altavas, Aklan, early morning today, September 11, 2025.
The victim was identified as Patrolman, a resident of Barangay Bita, Dao, Capiz.
He was assigned to the Aklan PMFC under the Philippine National Police.
According to an initial sketchy report submitted to the Aklan Provincial Police Office, the on-duty sentinel was startled after hearing a gunshot coming from the victim’s quarters.
Upon checking, the sentinel discovered the officer bloodied and lying in his bed.
Authorities are still conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
