CAMP PERALTA, JAMINDAN, CAPIZ- The Philippines–Australia Army-to-Army Exercise “KASANGGA 2025” officially began today, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Camp General Macario Peralta Jr., Barangay Jaena Norte, Jamindan, Capiz.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Major General Efren F. Morados, Vice Commander of the Philippine Army, stated that this activity is a great opportunity for Filipino troops, particularly those from the 3rd Infantry Battalion, to showcase their individual defense skills.
According to MGen. Morados, the goal of the joint military exercise is to strengthen defense cooperation between the Philippine Army and the Australian Army.
He further stated that various lined-up activities have been prepared to thoroughly train both the Philippine and Australian armies. These include combat operations, jungle warfare training, humanitarian disaster response, drone training, coastal exercises, and community engagement.
The Australian contingent is led by Captain Emma McDonald-Kerr, Australian Defense Attaché to the Philippines and a member of the Royal Australian Navy.
A total of 100 Australian soldiers and 150 Philippine soldiers are expected to participate in the said program.
Officials hope that this activity will be successful and beneficial, and that it will further enhance the defense capabilities of both nations through joint training exercises.
