ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – The Liga ng mga Barangay held a meeting to address and assess the current peace and order situation in the various barangays of Roxas City.
The meeting was led by ABC President Hon. Roberto Ross Roldan and was attended by barangay captains and other local officials from across the city.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Councilor Roberto Ross Roldan, who also chairs the Committee on Barangay Affairs and Community Development, said that one of the main topics discussed was the city’s peace and order status, particularly the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
Roldan reported that Barangay Adlawan has already been declared drug-cleared, but despite this status, the area remains under police surveillance to ensure that illegal drug activities do not return.
He added that the meeting also tackled the strategies of each barangay for achieving and maintaining their drug-clearing status, as well as the continuous monitoring of drug surrenderers to check if they have remained drug-free.
Barangay officials expressed full support for Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr., chief of the Roxas City PNP, and committed to working hand in hand with law enforcement to curb the presence of illegal drugs in their communities.
Officials also called on residents to stop engaging in illegal activities, while assuring the public that police patrols and monitoring efforts will continue in coordination with barangay leaders to help preserve peace and order in the city.
